Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya is a constituent unit of Veer Kunwar Singh University (VKSU), Ara, and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The institution follows the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) to ensure inclusive and forward-looking education.
Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Ara, popularly known as Mahila College, Ara is the only constituent unit of higher education for women of Bhojpur district. This college came into existence on 9th July 1959.
Previously there was not even a single centre of higher education for the girl students of old Shahabad district, which has now been divided into four districts. Considering the need for women's education, citizens of Ara felt the necessity of establishing a dedicated institution. A meeting of eminent personalities was held on November 5, 1958, where it was decided to begin higher education...
